Documents Required for IEC Registration

Step 1: A copy of the PAN card for an individual, firm, or company.

Step 2: A copy of the proprietor's voter ID, Aadhaar card, or passport.

Step 3: Provide proof of partnership, society, proprietorship firm, company, or HUF registration.

Step 4: Provide proof of business address, such as a sale contract, lease, rent agreement, or utility bills

Step 6: Provide a self-addressed envelope for registered post-delivery of the IEC certificate.

Steps for IEC (Import/Export Code) Registration

• Visit the DGFT website.
• On the home page, select the ‘Services’ tab
• Select ‘IEC Profile Management’ from the drop-down menu.
• A new page will open. Click the ‘Apply for IEC’ button on the page.
• Select the ‘Register’ option. Enter the required information and click the ‘Sent OTP’ button.
• Now you should enter the OTP and tap on the ‘Register’ button.
• Once OTP has been validated, you will receive a temporary password that you can change by logging into the DGFT website.
• Register on the DGFT website and log in with your username and password.
• On the DGFT website dashboard, select the ‘Apply for IEC’ option.
• Click the ‘Start Fresh Application’ button.
• Enter basic information, proprietor/partner/director/Karta/managing trustee data, bank information, and other details, attach a Digital Signature Certificate (DSC), and pay.
• After completing the payment process, you will be moved to the DGFT website. A receipt will be displayed.
• The IEC Certificate will be issued via email. It can be acquired by going into the DGFT website and selecting the ‘Print IEC’ option under ‘IEC Profile Management’.
